Connect your Canva account to ChatGPT

Connect your Canva account to ChatGPT to access supported Canva capabilities from ChatGPT. The connection uses Canva’s AI Connector. You can then create a design in ChatGPT using the Canva plugin. Preview the options in ChatGPT, then select one to continue editing in Canva.

• Make sure you’re signed in to the correct Canva account. The Canva plugin in ChatGPT requires a ChatGPT account and is available for all Canva accounts, including Canva Free and Canva Education.
• If you’re using ChatGPT Business/Enterprise: Your workspace admin needs to enable Apps & Connectors before you can connect Canva. See OpenAI’s guide to managing workspace settings in ChatGPT Enterprise.
• If you're on a Canva team, your admin may need to allow AI assistants to connect before you can use the Canva Plugin in ChatGPT.
• Some actions, such as using Brand Templates, need a paid plan. Eligible plans: Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Business, Canva Nonprofit, Canva Enterprise, or Canva Education.

You may be asked to sign in and authorise Canva during setup.

To check that Canva is connected, open @ Plugins in ChatGPT and confirm Canva appears as connected/enabled.

You can create, edit, and preview designs directly in ChatGPT through the Canva App.

1. In a chat with Canva turned on, describe what you want to create and say you want it in Canva.
2. Include the type of design, the style, and any text in your prompt.
3. Select an option to open it in Canva and continue editing.

You can ask Canva in ChatGPT to find your existing designs. You can also resize or copy a design, or import one from a URL. You can turn an image into an editable design too.

If you’re on a paid Canva plan (including Canva Education), you can search Brand Templates shared with you. On Canva Enterprise, you can fill a Brand Template with your own data (autofill) to create designs at scale.

• Ask your admin to allow the Canva AI Connector under Controls and Permissions.

• If you’re using a managed workspace (Business/Enterprise), ask your workspace admin to enable Apps & Connectors.
• Close and reopen ChatGPT, then try again.
• Disconnect Canva, then reconnect it.

• You might be using a Canva Free account. Searching Brand Templates needs a paid Canva plan, while data autofill requires Canva Enterprise.
• You’ll only see templates that have been shared with you. First, check that you’re using the correct account. If you still can’t access the templates, ask a team admin to share them with you.

• ChatGPT sometimes generates links that look like Canva links but don't point to a real design. Open the design from the preview in ChatGPT instead, or find it in your Canva projects.

• Only designs you select in ChatGPT are saved to your Canva account. To save one, choose Save or Open in Canva from the chat result.
